saffron walden / one minet park

Originally constructed in 2007, Saffron Walden Skatepark/One Minet Park has long been recognised as one of the UK's most respected concrete skateparks, attracting riders from across the country. After years of heavy use, the facility required careful intervention to address surface wear and isolated defects while preserving the character, flow and riding experience that had made it such a popular destination. Betongpark were appointed to deliver a comprehensive refurbishment alongside a sensitively designed extension that would complement the existing park rather than compete with it.

Working closely with Saffron Walden Town Council and the local skate community, the project combined specialist concrete repair techniques, surface polishing, joint and crack remediation, and localised reconstruction of worn areas with the addition of new skateable extension, remodelled surrounding landscape and new shelter. Great care was taken to retain the original geometry and identity of the park while introducing new opportunities for progression, flow and creativity. The result is a refreshed and expanded facility that respects the legacy of the original skatepark whilst extending its lifespan and ensuring it continues to serve future generations of riders.
